Foundation Course

The role of psychological factors in health and illness, together with the influence of these factors on patient response to medical interventions, including surgery, has been the subject of increasing research in medicine. Hypnosis has found a wide variety of applications in medicine over many years, and recent evidence has supported the argument for a greater role for this intervention in medicine.

The training introduces physicians to hypnotherapy methods to address a wide range of psychosomatic health issues. Course participants learn principles and methods of medical hypnotherapy for health benefits. They learn to assist clients suffering from physical conditions diagnosed and treated with conventional medicine. Hypnoanaesthesia methods are learned for pain control with clients suffering from chronic pain or pain associated with surgery or childbirth. Participants observe live demonstrations and study filmed cases of hypnotherapy methods applied to the treatment of medical conditions.

Advanced Course

This course can be taken by graduates of the Foundation Course or those with previous relevant experience and training.

This course teaches the following at an advanced level:

o Advanced skills in a wide variety of medical applications of hypnotherapy

o Hypnotic analgesia and anaesthesia

o Hypnosis for further specific health applications - pain control, promoting physical well-being and assisting sufferers with various psychosomatic conditions

o Hypnotherapy for physical well-being and assisting healing

o Hypnotherapy as an adjunct to specific medical treatments
